AR, Devil's Den State Park, one of many caverns in the park

Situated in a rocky valley and surrounded by the mystery and scenic beauty of the Ozarks is Devil's Den. One of Arkansas most scenic State Parks. There are numerous caves, caverns, streams, and sandstone bluffs to explore. Areas containing landscapes that have been eroded into dark, eerie, and twisted formations. Supernatural shapes which prompted those first pioneers who saw them to name this place "Devil's Den".

Highlights of the area include seven hiking, equestrian, and mountain biking trails. All with spectacular scenic overlooks of the Ozarks. These trails and most of the park's rustic stone and log structures were completed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the early 1930s. Devil's Den has 13 rustic cabins with kitchens and fireplaces ($65) and a campground containing 148 sites (43 with electric and water hookups, $7-12). There is also a horse camp (horses are welcome on Highways 170, 74 and 220), the Den's stone waterfall, and an eight acre lake.
