Nestled in the hills of the Ouachita National Forest with 975 miles of
shoreline and 40,000 acres of clear blue water is Lake Ouachita, Arkansas
largest man-made lake. Named as one of the cleanest lakes in America.
There are over 200 deserted islands within Lake Ouachita to explore and a 70 slip full service marina where rental
boats are available for your adventure.
Lake Ouachita is the largest lake in Arkansas and a favorite among fisherman since it is
regularly stocked with rainbow trout, northern pike, and striped bass
in addition to the native bream, crappie, catfish, and largemouth bass that are regularly caught in these waters.
Offering some of the finest freshwater fishing in America. Water skiing, sailing, canoeing, and scuba diving
are also very popular.

"Ouachita" comes from the American Indian word "Washita" which translates into good hunting grounds.
There is no shortage of wildlife in the park. Campers will find 117 campsites ($10-$19) with modern bathhouses
and hot showers. There are also 7 fully equipped cabins with kitchens that overlook the lake. A party boat takes groups on tours of Lake Ouachita for $7. Lake Ouachita State Park, 5451 Mountain
