Annapolis is the Maryland's third
oldest city. Established soon after the original
Catholic settlement in St. Mary's County in 1634 and Baltimore in 1660. It is
lined with cobblestone streets and colonial architecture that reflects
its early beginnings. Annapolis was the nation's capital
for a short period lasting about a year in 1783. It is here that George Washington
formally resigned his commission after the Revolutionary War in 1783 to enable him to become
our 1st US President.

Home of the U.S. Naval Academy since
1845, its harbor was a bustling commercial seaport in
colonial times. It retains much of this prestige and is
widely regarded as the "Sailing Capital of the
U.S." There are numerous shops and seafood
restaurants located on its quaint waterfront wharf. Here
you can feast on Maryland's tasty Chesapeake Bay crabs
and oysters. Walk the cobblestone streets of the main
city block where to 18th century antique shops, taverns,
and bookstores will intrigue and inspire your
imagination.
